To those who knew him, his name brings memories of kindness, wisdom and unwavering love. To those meeting him for the first time, welcome. We invite you to discover the remarkable young man whose life inspired the Lethabo Moshe Foundation.

His Story

Who Lethabo Was

Curiosity, hope and endless potential

Lethabo's journey began with curiosity, hope and endless potential. He started his education at Moetapele Primary School, where his love for learning quickly became clear. He was respected by teachers, trusted by classmates and cherished by his family. He was not only a good student, but a genuinely good person.

At Victory High School and later Dr Beyers Naudé Secondary School, these qualities continued to grow. He embraced every opportunity to learn, serve and develop. Beyond academics, he participated in athletics, enjoyed football and proudly served as a firefighter cadet. Whether in the classroom, on the field or in service, he showed courage, discipline and commitment.

How he treated others

What truly set Lethabo apart was how he treated others. He was always ready to help, patiently guiding friends through schoolwork and offering encouragement whenever it was needed. Helping others was not something he occasionally did, it was part of who he was.

As the firstborn, he carried responsibility with maturity and grace. He helped raise his younger brother, his cousin and his younger sister, always emphasising the importance of education, integrity and respect.

His honesty and integrity earned him deep trust, especially in matters of finance. To his friends, he was more than a companion, he was a mentor, a brother and a source of guidance. He believed knowledge should always be shared and freely supported others in their academic journeys.

Beyond his discipline, Lethabo had a joyful and creative spirit. He loved reading, cartoons and anime, enjoyed strategic games and had a passion for cooking and baking. While living in university residence with his brother, he became the household chef, bringing warmth and togetherness through his meals. He also loved music, creating beats and recording songs with friends simply for the joy of creativity.

Measured by lives, not qualifications

Lethabo pursued excellence in everything he did. He earned a Certificate in Information Technology from George Tabor TVET College, graduating with distinctions in every subject. He then continued his studies at the University of the Witwatersrand, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Anthropology and Political Studies, followed by an Honours degree in Anthropology.

Yet, he never measured success by qualifications alone. He measured it by the lives he could impact. He tutored learners, mentored students and gave his time generously. Even while in hospital, he continued helping others with their studies, choosing service above all else.
